Who are we?

Drawing from a background in psychology and research experience in psychometrics and linguistics, the ELIA Institute was envisioned as a vessel for investigating the full range of human linguistic experience.

Innovative Niche

In a field that’s richly promising yet largely under-researched, we aim to add meaningfully to the discourse and ultimately design, validate, and disseminate robust psychological assessments that integrate psychological, linguistic and emotional dimensions of the self.

Since July 2025, we have been conducting robust literature reviews and refining our engagement with existing studies, highlighting questions of what’s missing and how we fit in.

Mission + Vision

We envision a world where language is understood not just as communication, but as a core of being, a force that shapes how we think, feel, connect, and become. It shapes empathy, emotional resonance, and identity. Our work bridges psychology, linguistics, and the humanities to build a richer understanding of what makes us human. By combining psychometrics, data analytics, and cross-linguistic research, we strive to contribute tools and knowledge that serve clinical, academic, and applied settings.

Linette Anyiacha

With a background in psychology and a strong interest in interdisciplinary research, Linette envisioned the ELIA Institute as a space to bring together different perspectives on what it means to understand the human experience. Her particular interest in precision psychiatry and psychometrics informs a commitment to developing more individualized, reliable, and meaningful approaches to understanding mental health.

As an avid language learner and a self-proclaimed human enthusiast, she hopes to close in on the often overlooked aspects of the self, bringing greater clarity to the ways we think, feel, and relate to one another, all crucial components of what she terms the foundation of being.

Our Core Values

We approach language, psychology, and human interaction through a systems perspective. These principles shape both our research and the way we govern and develop the Institute.

Interdisciplinary Inquiry

Understanding language and human experience requires integrating insights from various (sometimes unexpected) fields.

Empathy-centred Research

Our work recognizes empathy as a fundamental component of communication and human understanding.

Cultural and Linguistic Awareness

Human experience is shaped by language and cultural context, which must be considered in both research and applied assessment.

Systems Thinking

Language, cognition, emotion, and social structures operate as interconnected systems that must be studied and addressed holistically.
